    1. Evaporation: The heat from the sun causes water from oceans, lakes, and rivers to evaporate and transform into water vapor in the atmosphere.
    2. Condensation: As the water vapor rises, it cools down and condenses into tiny water droplets, forming clouds.
    3. Precipitation: When the condensation reaches a point where the clouds can no longer hold the water droplets, precipitation occurs. This can be in the form of rain, snow, sleet, or hail.
    4. Runoff: Precipitation that falls on land can either infiltrate into the ground or flow over the surface as runoff. It collects in rivers, lakes, and oceans, replenishing the water bodies.
    5. Transpiration: Plants absorb water from the soil through their roots and release it into the atmosphere through their leaves in a process called transpiration.
    6. Sublimation: Under specific conditions, ice and snow can transform directly into water vapor without melting, a process known as sublimation.
